Hi all…a real quick post for today. I mentioned last posting that I was invited to participate in a podcast with a new cousin, Sherri Marengo. The show, titled “The Real Native American Connection”, is posted in it’s entirety below. She did a great job with it! For this post, I’m calling it the Hannah Hale Podcast so I can draw a bit more attention to the subject. The article I wrote about Hannah is the most visited page on this blog. Please give it a listen when you have time. Her website is https://jleaz1.wixsite.com/radiosherri. Thanks again for visiting The Hogue Connection! You can return to the Home Page here.
MY 3RD GREAT GRANDMOTHER WAS MARGARET REBECCA STRICKLAND, JOHN STRICKLAND’S SISTER. HER CHILDREN WERE BORN AT DEER PARK, AL. WE NEVER KNEW ANY OF THIS UNTIL MY MOTHER PASSED AND WE SEARCHED MY GRANDMOTHER’S BIBLE. I’VE DISCOVERED THREE COUSINS ALREADY INCLUDING MR. HOGUE. EVERY YEAR HERE THEY HAVE A FORT MIMS REENACTMENT, HAPOIE ( FAR OFF WARRIOR IS INSCRIBED ON THE STONE MONUMENT) WHERE HE DIED IN BATTLE.
My great-great-great grandmother was Hannah Hale. My great-great-great grandfather was Far Off Warrior. Do you have any information on Far Off’s parents or lineage?
Hi Sandy! Thanks for visiting the Hogue Connection. As I mentioned in my article on Hannah Hale (there is a link to it on the home page), many believe that Far-Off’s father might be the aforementioned Efau Haujo (Mad Dog), and tack Haujo on the end of Far-Off’s name as if it were a surname. I believe this is also incorrect. There is no evidence Far-Off and Mad Dog were related. So we need further research done here.
Do you have any info on Mad Dog’s parents or lineage?
My great, great, great, great grandmother was Hannah Hale.
Cool! Thanks for visiting my blog!
